What is B2B Sales and how is it different from B2C?
Business to Business sales indicates sales made to other businesses rather than sales made to individuals. B2B Sales is different from B2C (Business to Consumer) sales in a number of ways.
Firstly, as a B2B sales person you will be working with high-level executives and CEOs of fast-growing businesses. The inter-business transactions you are creating by working in B2B sales are what makes the commercial world go round. Without sales - no business can survive!
Volumes of items sold in B2B sales are often larger and have a longer "sell cycle" than in B2C which requires long term relationships to be built and maintained between the sales person and the executive or CEO of the company you are selling to.
Often businesses will buy from a company on a regular basis as opposed to a B2C sale which may be a one off purchase.
This means there is much more more of an emphasis placed on understanding a client's long-term business objectives, building relationships with clients and establishing the best way to fulfill their needs over an extended period of time in B2B sales than in B2C.
